Plot provides tax calculators, deductions and reliefs finders, and cash-basis digital record-keeping for the self-employed, landlords and small businesses across the UK, Ireland, Australia, the United States and Germany.
For the UK, Plot also helps you meet HMRC's Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax obligations — keeping your records digitally and submitting your quarterly updates and final declaration to HMRC through HMRC's APIs.
Everything Plot shows is an estimate to help you understand your position. It is not tax, legal or financial advice, and it does not replace a qualified accountant or your tax authority.
You are responsible for what you file. Always check your figures with the relevant tax authority or a professional before relying on them. We are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on Plot's estimates.
If you use Plot's Making Tax Digital features, you authorise Plot to connect to HMRC on your behalf through HMRC's secure sign-in (OAuth), so we can retrieve your obligations and submit your data. You can disconnect Plot from HMRC at any time. Your use of HMRC's services is also subject to HMRC's own terms and conditions.
Submissions and final declarations are built from the digital records you keep in Plot. You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of those records.
Before anything is sent to HMRC you can review the figures, and confirming a submission or final declaration is your declaration to HMRC that the information is correct and complete. Plot helps you meet your obligations but does not replace your legal responsibility for your own tax affairs.
Keep your login details secure and provide accurate information. You're responsible for activity under your account.
Don't misuse the service: no attempting to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer it, and no using it unlawfully.
You own the figures you enter. You grant us the limited permission needed to store and process them to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability or that every figure is free of error.
Plot offers Free, Sole and Business tiers. Paid features require a subscription, billed securely through Stripe. Subscriptions renew at the end of each paid period unless you cancel; you can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. Prices, renewal and cancellation terms are shown clearly before you pay.
Plot, its software, design and brand are owned by us. These terms don't transfer any of those rights to you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss, penalties or interest arising from reliance on estimates, from inaccurate records, or from missed or late submissions. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
We may update these terms. The latest version will always be on this page, with its last-updated date.
